As an Iphone owner, it was my responsibility to upgrade my beloved Iphone to latest IOS 17 as soon as it release. I waited one day so I can hear the issues from people who upgraded the IOS. There were very few / minor issues some selected individuals faced.
So I decided to upgrade to IOS 17 after one day overnight. I kept my Iphone on upgrade and later saw it was successful when woke up the other day. Things went smooth through out the day as I didn't face any issue during normal use.
So I decided to go for run later in evening. It was a short 5Km trail run using my Garmin watch. Later in evening I Synched my watch through Garmin software and it successfully synced with Garmin as well as Strava. Things were going fine as routine.
Then came the part when I tried to upload the photo from the run to Strava (which is my normal practice). Here I got shock that somehow Strava was not able to accept the photos and gave error that "it cannot compress the photos I selected". At first I thought that the photo format was changed during the IOS 17 upgrade but it was same as before. Then I tried to upload an older photo which I already uploaded to Strava in previous run (Before my IOS 17 upgrade), but that gave me error too.
I checked the settings of Strava / Photo app / Permissions. All were ok. Then my curious mind started recalling minor issues that people faced after IOS 17 upgrade for some of the apps they use. The resolution for all those issues was same.
So here comes the 2 steps you need to do to make Strava upload of photos work again.
- Goto App Store, Click on your name to go into your Account and refresh the page to check if Strava have latest update pending to be updated. if it is there, first update your Strava to latest release. If you have already got the latest update of Strava then goto next step.
- Second step is just reboot / restart your Iphone.
After above 2 steps. Open the Strava again and upload the photos. It will work.
Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a great job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me on Internet explorer.
Exceptional Blog!
